In a remarkable achievement, Dr. Srinivasan became the first Indian to be bestowed with the prestigious American Academy of Neurology’s General Neurology 2024 Award in April 2024. This International recognition underscores his exceptional contributions to the field. Additionally, he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Scientific Laurel in 2024, acknowledging his extraordinary services and accomplishments.
A Lifetime of Service:
Dr. Srinivasan’s dedication to patient welfare is unparalleled. He has been selflessly providing free medical services, food, and medicines to over 90,500 patients for over 625 weeks. His compassionate approach and commitment to alleviating suffering have touched the lives of many.

Dr. Srinivasan’s academic pursuits have been equally impressive. He was the first Neurologist to be awarded Ph.D in Neurology by the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University. Dr. Srinivasan’s illustrious career spans over 50 years at Madras Medical College, where he has served as a student, faculty member, professor, and emeritus professor. His international travels, numerous distinctions, and 12 consecutive years as a jury member for the TYSA Award in selecting the best Neurology Post Graduate in India, which further solidifies his position as a leading figure in the Indian Neurology.
During the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Indian Academy of Neurology, A MOU (Memorandum of understanding) was signed between Association of Indian Neurologists in America (AINA) USA and Indian Academy of Neurology (IAN) by Prof A V Srinivasan, When he was the President of IAN in 2017.
