His academic repertoire also includes an Emergency Medicine certification from RIGOMO (2021), an MBA from D. Y. Patil University (2023), and a Business Management Premiership from the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development (ICTRD, 2022).
Yet, Dr. Havinal’s story extends far beyond the confines of medical textbooks. At the tender age of 21, while still in his third year of MBBS, he took a daring plunge into the world of entrepreneurship. With nothing but a vision and a modest capital of Rs. 4 lakhs from personal savings, he launched his first business venture — Naati Manae, a modest eatery in Bangalore’s bustling Koramangala, dedicated to serving authentic Karnataka cuisine.
Despite being new to the city and unfamiliar with the intricacies of the food industry, Dr. Havinal’s instinctive understanding of local tastes and his commitment to authenticity struck a chord. Naati Manae was an instant success. In just one year, it evolved into a multi-cuisine restaurant with four thriving branches across the city, valued at over Rs. 2 crore.
However, when early whispers of the COVID-19 pandemic began emerging from China, Dr. Havinal made a bold and prescient decision. He sold his restaurant chain, securing his capital against the uncertain future. This foresight would lay the foundation for his next monumental leap — healthcare entrepreneurship.
In 2020, leveraging his savings and business acumen, Dr. Havinal established Shreyas Hospital, a 100-bedded, fully equipped, multi-specialty healthcare institution. What began with an initial investment of Rs. 25 lakhs has now grown into one of Bangalore’s leading private hospitals, strategically located in the heart of the city.
