“Partha Hazarika: Nurtured by His Alma Mater, Leading Its Future”

A Homecoming of Commitment: Mr. Partha Hazarika’s Journey from Student to Principal

In a story that beautifully illustrates dedication and the profound impact of community roots, Mr. Partha Hazarika has reached a significant professional and personal milestone. On January 1, 2025, he officially assumed the role of Principal-in-Charge of Bakaliaghat Higher Secondary School in Karbi Anglong, Assam. This appointment is not merely a career promotion; it represents the culmination of a deep, enduring connection to the institution that first nurtured him, marking a heartfelt homecoming after more than two decades of service.

His journey with the school began decades ago as a student, where the foundations of his academic discipline were laid. The late Bhadreswar Hazarika, his father, was a respected Mathematics teacher at the same institution, instilling in him an early appreciation for education and its power to shape young minds. He successfully passed his High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination in 1994, distinguishing himself with a letter of commendation in Mathematics—a testament to the scholarly environment in which he was raised.

His academic pursuits continued with vigor as he earned a graduation degree in the Science stream from Gauhati University, specializing in Physics. This strong foundational knowledge paved the way for his return to his alma mater, not as a student, but as an educator. On November 4, 2004, he joined Bakaliaghat Higher Secondary School as a Science teacher, embarking on a dedicated path of service that would span over twenty years.

Driven by a commitment to professional excellence, he continuously sought to enhance his qualifications. In 2021, he achieved a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree through a two-year deputation, solidifying his pedagogical expertise. Not content to rest there, he further expanded his academic horizons by completing a Master of Arts in Sociology from Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University in 2023 through open and distance learning, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and dedication to lifelong learning.

His promotion to Principal-in-Charge is the capstone of a remarkable 20 years, 8 months, and 9 days of service as an assistant teacher at the school. This transition from a student in its classrooms to the leader of its academic vision represents a rare and inspiring full circle. He has expressed profound pride and a deep sense of fortune in being entrusted with the stewardship of the very institution that played a pivotal role in his own formation.

His story is more than one of individual achievement; it is a narrative of unwavering commitment to a community and its educational heritage. As he steps into his new leadership role, he carries forward the legacy of his father and the trust of his mentors, poised to inspire a new generation of students in the halls where he himself once learned. Mr. Hazarika’s journey stands as a powerful testament to the impact of dedicated educators and the enduring bond between a teacher and their school.
