Born on 29 January 2006 in Kolkata, West Bengal, to Shri Goutam Roy and Smt. Jaba Roy, A. Roy discovered karate at an early age. Years of intensive training honed his abilities, transforming him into a world-class athlete and a role model for aspiring martial artists. Having competed in over a hundred tournaments, he stands out as a rare all-rounder excelling in both Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring). Exposure to diverse martial arts cultures in India, South Africa, Switzerland, and Australia has broadened his tactical understanding and skillset. Looking ahead, he aspires to represent India in more elite global tournaments while actively promoting karate among the country’s youth. By combining his athletic expertise with academic knowledge in sports management, he aims to contribute to the professional growth and recognition of martial arts in India.
